Aged Care
The Jawoyn Association provides support to the aged and elderly.
Jawoyn and other Aboriginal people living on Jawoyn land who are aged or infirmed are eligible to receive food vouchers and other items.
Given the overcrowding in many family homes and the pressures to feed everyone, food vouchers ensure the elderly are guaranteed access to food, particularly so they're able to take medication.
Recipients can accumulate up to two entitlements.
They can choose to use their food vouchers in Katherine or at the local community store where they live.
